About Us

Second Chance German Shepherd Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run, foster-based German Shepherd Dog rescue serving the greater Bay Area and Sacramento/Roseville regions of Northern California. Our primary focus is rescuing German Shepherd Dogs from life threatening situations in overcrowded shelters where they are in danger of being put to sleep. We adopt our dogs into loving, responsible permanent homes. German Shepherd Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, and receive basic veterinary care while they await placement in their permanent homes. We work with area shelters and other rescue groups to develop a network of support for German Shepherd Dogs in need. You'll find Dez and Mike Murray, Kelley Allison, Dr. Seema McMaster, Charlene O’Rourke, Melanie McNeil, Roberta Simpson, Karen Wyatt, Barbara Costello, Debbie Bellamy-Reyes, Yen Lau, Vicki and Bill Benevides and over sixty more volunteers with Second Chance German Shepherd Rescue.
